WET GROUNDS COMPLETE “WINTER CHALLENGE” WEEKEND “CLEAN SWEEP”

DICK JORDAN, Peoria, AZ (January 27, 2013) Wet grounds created by persistent rains in central Arizona the past three days have conspired to force a third consecutive cancellation of “Winter Challenge” activities involving USAC’s West Coast and Southwest Sprint cars at Canyon Speedway Park. Sunday’s races have been cancelled, but the “Winter Challenge” resumes Wednesday, Friday and Saturday at the track and Saturday’s finale includes both an afternoon and an evening event, creating a unique “doubleheader.”  

RAIN WASHES OUT “WINTER CHALLENGE” ROUND 2

DICK JORDAN, Peoria, AZ (January 26, 2013) Persistent rains have forced cancellation of Saturday night’s second round of the 2013 “Winter Challenge” special event for USAC West Coast and Southwest Sprint Cars at Canyon Speedway Park. Sunday’s round three remains on the schedule, along with races January 30, February 1 and 2.

WINTER CHALLENGE OPENER RAINED OUT

DICK JORDAN, Peoria, AZ (January 25, 2013) Rains which interrupted hot laps eventually forced cancellation of Friday night’s “Winter Challenge” opener at Canyon Speedway Park. The “special event” series featuring USAC West Coast and Southwest Sprint Cars is scheduled to continue Saturday and Sunday, followed by Jan. 30, Feb. 1 and 2 races.

MID AMERICA SPEEDWAY RACE TO OPEN USAC SOUTHWEST “FREEDOM TOUR”

PEORIA, AZ – JANUARY 14, 2013… Series Director Kevin Montgomery has announced an addition to the 2013 USAC Southwest Sprint Car Schedule. On August 21st, the traditional sprints will compete at Mid America Speedway in South Coffeyville, Oklahoma. The non-point $2,500-to-win main event will open the four-race “Freedom Tour” joining dates at Wichita and Dodge City, Kansas.
